Cozen O’Connor Expands State Attorneys General Practice with Addition of Former Virginia State Attorney General Jerry Kilgore

Washington, D.C., Feb. 27, 2017 — Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that Jerry Kilgore has joined the firm’s State Attorneys General (AG) Practice as a member. Kilgore previously served as Virginia Attorney General and Virginia Secretary of Public Safety. Kilgore’s leadership and experience will further elevate Cozen O’Connor’s nationally recognized AG Practice, which has extensive experience successfully representing some of the largest and well-known companies facing high-profile investigations and litigation involving AGs in all 50 states. Kilgore will join a deep bench of talent that includes attorneys with decades of experience having served in senior level positions in AG offices, federal agencies, and fortune 500 companies. Chambers USA has recognized Cozen O’Connor’s AG Practice as having the leading AG practitioner in the country and as “very creative and results-oriented.” Kilgore will be located in Cozen O’Connor’s Washington, D.C. office.

Kilgore currently serves as finance chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia, and previously served as chairman of the Republican Attorneys General Association. While he was attorney general of Virginia, he also served on the executive committee of the National Association of Attorneys General. Kilgore has been honored with numerous accolades, including being named among The Best Lawyers in America. He received his J.D. from William & Mary Law School and his B.A. with honors from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise.

For the past year and a half, Cozen O’Connor’s Washington, D.C., office has been growing its practice offerings and now has the leading State Attorneys General Practice in the nation.
