This election year the only Attorney General (AG) race was in Virginia. In New Jersey, Governor-elect Phil Murphy (D) will appoint a new AG upon taking office.
In light of the 2017 election results, the projected AG landscape will be 28 Republican AGs and 23 Democratic AGs.

Incumbent Mark Herring (D) defeated John Adams (R) by a margin of 53.3% to 46.7% with 100% precincts reporting.
