Spotlight: Arizona AG Mark Brnovich

Areas of focus since taking office have included:

  1. Championing legislation to make Arizona the first state in the country to implement a regulatory fintech (financial technology) sandbox.
  2. Providing the citizens of Arizona with the Community Outreach and Education Division. The Community Outreach provides free valuable tools and resources for seniors, parents, schools, military and veterans, and law enforcement.
  3. Protecting Arizona consumers by securing well over $200 million in restitution and other forms of relief since 2015.

Professional background: Prior to becoming AG, General Brnovich has served as the Director of the Arizona Department of Gaming and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona. From 1998 to 2003, AG Brnovich served in the Arizona AG’s Office and represented the Arizona Department of Gaming.

Education: AG Brnovich received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University, and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. While at Arizona State, Brnovich was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity.

Personal: AG Brnovich and his wife, Susan, a U.S. District Judge for the District of Arizona, have two teenage daughters and live in Phoenix.
