Spotlight: North Dakota AG Drew Wrigley

Areas of focus since taking office include:

  1. Offering numerous public safety services to North Dakotans, from maintaining the state’s sex offender website to conducting fire inspections of schools and state buildings.
  2. Ensuring citizens have the tools and resources they need to protect themselves from consumer fraud.
  3. Providing criminal justice systems and services to assist state and local law enforcement agencies.

Professional background: In February 2022, Drew Wrigley was appointed by Governor Doug Burgum as the 30th attorney general for the State of North Dakota. AG Wrigley will be serving out the remainder of AG Stenehjem’s term following AG Stenehjem’s unexpected death on January 28, 2022. AG Wrigley is a fourth generation North Dakotan and former U.S. Attorney and Lieutenant Governor. Early in his career he worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office.

Education:  AG Wrigley received his B.A. from the University of North Dakota in Economics and Philosophy, and received his J.D. from the American University, Washington College of Law.

Personal: AG Wrigley is a fourth generation North Dakotan with family roots in Walsh County and Burke County, where the Wrigley Brothers Farm still thrives. AG Wrigley and his wife, Kathleen, live in Bismarck and have three children.
