Alabama Attorney General Leaves NAAG; Georgia Attorney General Resigns as RAGA Chair

  • Alabama AG Steve Marshall left the National Association of Attorneys General, stating to the press that he cannot justify spending taxpayer money to “fund an organization that seems to be going further and further left” and pledging instead to direct such funds to his office’s consumer protection division.
  • Separately, Georgia AG Chris Carr resigned from the chairmanship of the Republican Attorneys General Association (“RAGA”), and from its executive committee, citing in his resignation letter “differences of opinion” about RAGA’s future direction and about “the significance of the January 6, [2021]” events in Washington, D.C.
