Spotlight: Virginia AG Jason Miyares

Areas of focus:

  1. Recreate a pro-business Virginia by fighting to preserve Virginia’s Right to Work status.
  2. Fight human trafficking with proposed legislation that would seize property from landlords who knowingly rent to human traffickers.

Professional background: Jason Miyares was elected as attorney general in 2021. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2015 to 2021 while also working as a partner with the consulting firm Madison Strategies. Earlier in his career, AG Miyares was an assistant commonwealth’s attorney in Virginia Beach, and also worked as a campaign manager and adviser to former U.S. Congressman Scott Rigell (R-VA).

Education: AG Miyares received his B.A. from James Madison University and his J.D. from the College of William & Mary’s Law School.

Personal: AG Miyares and his wife, Paige, have three daughters.
