Virginia attorney general candidates to face off in final debate

Virginia’s two attorney general candidates, locked in a low-profile but increasingly heated campaign, will debate Friday in Leesburg, their second and final formal matchup before the Nov. 7 election. Incumbent Attorney General Mark Herring (D) and challenger John Adams (R) occupy opposite ends of the political spectrum and have widely divergent ideas about the role of the commonwealth’s top legal officer.
