Chris Carr was appointed as attorney general by Governor Nathan Deal in October 2016 after former AG Sam Olens resigned. He then was elected to the position in November 2018 and again in 2022. AG Carr began his law career at Georgia-Pacific, then worked as an associate at Alston & Bird LLP.
