- In Mississippi, the Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell has announced his plans to run for state AG. Tindell is running as a Republican following current AG Lynn Fitch’s announcement that she would be running for Governor in 2027.
- Tindell was appointed by Governor Tate Reeves to lead the Department of Public Safety in May 2020. Before his appointment to the Department of Public Safety, he served as a Judge for the Mississippi Court of Appeals, representing District 5, Position 2.
- Tindell also served in the Mississippi Senate representing Senate District 49 from 2012 until his appointment to the bench. As a state senator, he chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee and was the vice chairman of the Senate Tourism Committee.
