NAAG Tells Congress to “Just Say Yes” to Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Act

  • The National Association of Attorneys General sent a letter on behalf of a bipartisan coalition of 37 state and territory AGs to Democratic and Republican leadership in the U.S. House and Senate, urging them to pass the Youth Substance Use Prevention and Awareness Act.
  • In the letter, the AGs argue that the Act is part of needed efforts to prevent early substance use by providing funding for culturally relevant public service announcements (PSAs) for youth, youth-led PSA contests, and federal grants for outreach.
  • The AGs urge congressional leaders to pass the Act.
