- A group of 16 Republican AGs, the Arizona legislature, and a trade association announced that as a result of their lawsuit challenging California’s Advanced Clean Fleets regulation, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has agreed to repeal certain aspects of its regulation.
- According to the settlement, CARB agreed to begin the rulemaking process to repeal the High-Priority Fleet and Drayage Fleet Requirements of the Advanced Clean Fleets regulation, and to refrain from enforcing the requirement of 100% zero-emission-vehicle sales in the medium- and heavy-duty categories beginning with model year 2036 until CARB obtains a Clean Air Act preemption waiver from EPA.
- As previously reported, Republican AGs had submitted comments to the EPA urging the agency to reject California’s request for a preemption waiver.
