Jonathan Skrmetti was selected as Tennessee’s 28th attorney general by the Tennessee Supreme Court in August 2022, and assumed office on September 1, 2022. Prior to being selected as AG, he served as the chief deputy attorney general, and since December 2021 he has served as chief counsel to Governor Bill Lee. Earlier in his career he worked in private practice and as an assistant United States attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
