Brian Schwalb was sworn in as the second elected District of Columbia Attorney General in January 2023. Prior to being elected, AG Schwalb served as the partner-in-charge of the DC office of Venable LLP, and previously served as vice chairman of the firm. Early in his career he worked for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Honor Program as a trial lawyer in the Tax Division.
