Background: In 1984, AG Schuette was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served three terms. In 1994, he was elected to the Michigan State Senate representing the 35th District. In 2002, AG Schuette was elected to serve as a judge in the Michigan 4th District Court of Appeals for six years. AG Schuette also worked in private practice at Warner Norcross & Judd LLP as Senior Counsel specializing in litigation and appellate cases, as well as government affairs from 2008 to 2009. In 1991, he was named the Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, a cabinet post he held for three years.
