Mississippi AG Lynn Fitch has announced that she will seek the Republican nomination for governor in 2027 to replace current term limited Gov. Tate Reeves.

Lynn Fitch was elected as Mississippi’s first woman attorney general in 2019 and reelected in 2023. Previously, AG Fitch served two terms as state treasurer from 2012 to 2020. Before that, she served as executive director of the Mississippi State Personnel Board, executive director at the Department of Employment Security, and counsel for the state House of Representatives Ways and Means and Local and Private Legislation Committees.
