- Michigan AG Dana Nessel has sued KalshiEX LLC (Kalshi) for allegedly violating Michigan’s Lawful Sports Betting Act by operating an unlicensed sports wagering platform.
- According to the complaint, Kalshi allegedly offered unlicensed sports wagering in Michigan through “event contracts” that function like traditional sports bets, endangering residents and sidestepping Michigan’s internet sports betting laws.
- The lawsuit seeks a declaration that Kalshi’s Michigan operation is a common law nuisance, plus a permanent injunction and order of abatement barring the company from engaging in or advertising its internet sports betting operation in the state.
- We previously reported on a similar lawsuit filed by Massachusetts AG Andrea Joy Campbell alleging Kalshi violated the Commonwealth’s gambling laws.
