- Pennsylvania AG Dave Sunday settled with property management company Home365, LLC to resolve allegations that its use of an artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted platform resulted in failures to timely address tenants’ maintenance needs in violation of state consumer protection laws.
- According to the settlement, Home365’s AI-assisted platform was allegedly responsible for delays in addressing maintenance requests, among other allegations.
- Under the settlement, Home365 must pay $45,000 in restitution and costs, and maintain properties in a safe and habitable condition, among other relief.
- AI is a growing focus of state AG efforts, which have included a letter sent by a bipartisan coalition of 37 AGs opposing a federal ban against state-level regulation of AI systems; Texas AG Ken Paxton’s settlement with AI-assisted healthcare company Pieces Technologies; California AG Rob Bonta’s issuance of legal advisories on the application of California law to AI; and New Jersey AG Matthew Platkin’s announcement of the creation of a Civil Rights Innovation Lab and new guidance on algorithmic discrimination.
