- A coalition of AGs have secured a months-long halt to Paramount Skydance Corp.’s (Paramount) merger with Warner Bros. Discover, Inc. (Warner Bros.). The coalition sued Paramount and Warner Bros. on July 13, alleging that the merger would illegally reduce competition throughout the film and television industries, harming workers, consumers, and businesses.
- On July 20, the coalition won a temporary restraining order preventing Paramount and Warner Bros. from carrying out their merger. The stipulation announced on July 24 requires Paramount and Warner Bros. to remain separate companies until five days after the court’s decision on the merits of the case or June 1, 2027, whichever comes earlier.
- The states involved in the case are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
