Hector Balderas was elected Attorney General in 2014. Prior to that, he served as New Mexico State Auditor from 2007, where he undertook special audits and investigations to locate and eliminate mismanagement of taxpayer funds in government agencies and schools. Before his position as auditor, he served one term in the NM House of Representatives. AG Balderas also has served as an Assistant District Attorney for Bernalillo County and as a special prosecutor for the 4th Judicial District of New Mexico.
