- Connecticut AG William Tong led a coalition of 45 states and territories seeking court approval for three settlements with Ascend Laboratories, Citron Pharma, and Mayne Pharma resolving allegations that the generic drug manufacturers conspired to raise prices, limit competition, and restrain trade involving generic prescription drugs.
- Under the settlements, Ascend will pay $400,000, and Mayne will pay $650,000 to the states. Citron’s settlement does not include monetary terms because the company has ceased operations. As part of the settlement, all three companies have agreed to reforms intended to strengthen internal compliance, promote fair competition, and prevent future antitrust violations. These settlements come ahead of the first trial in the broader litigation, scheduled for February 2027 in Hartford, Connecticut.
- The cases all stem from a series of investigations built on evidence from several cooperating witnesses, a document database of over 20 million documents, and a phone records database containing millions of call detail records and contact information for over 600 sales and pricing individuals in the generics industry.
