- Texas AG Ken Paxton reached a settlement with Vision Path, Inc. to resolve allegations that Vision Path’s Hubble contact lens business violated Texas’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
- Following complaints from consumers and opticians, the AG alleges its investigation determined that the lenses Hubble’s marketing material described as “high quality” were actually made from a material developed over two decades ago. Hubble also is alleged to have failed to properly refund some consumers after products were returned and to verify consumers’ lens prescriptions.
- Under the terms of the Assurance of Voluntary Compliance, Vision Path will pay the State of Texas $300,000 in civil penalties, $70,000 in attorney’s fees, and $2,100 in restitution for certain Texas consumers.
