- Iowa AG Brenna Bird has announced that her office has sued the e-commerce marketplace Temu for violations of the Iowa Consumer Fraud Act.
- The suit alleges that Temu advertises itself as an e-commerce platform offering low cost goods to consumers but the promise of savings can allow the platform to harvest data of consumers. The suit also alleges Temu’s false representations about the quality of goods, use of sign-up scams, and pricing misrepresentations.
- The lawsuit seeks to stop Temu from unlawful conduct and get reimbursement, civil penalties, and any other equitable relief.
