Before being elected to Congress, AG Ellison served in the Minnesota House of Representatives and worked in private practice specializing in civil rights law and criminal defense, including five years as Executive Director of the Legal Rights Center.

Tennessee: Jonathan Skrmetti, a Republican, has been selected by the Tennessee Supreme Court to serve an eight-year term as the 28th Tennessee Attorney General and Reporter. Prior to becoming Governor Bill Lee’s chief legal counsel in December 2021, Skrmetti served as chief deputy attorney general. AG Skrmetti replaces AG Herbert Slatery, who announced in May that he would not seek a second term.
